In a Nutshell:
As our Head of Group Procurement, you will research, evaluate and recommend supply chain partners/manufacturers/merchants for use across the business. Maintain relationships with the supply chain and identify new or alternative products/supply opportunities. Ensure the Regional Commercial Teams are fully informed of the group agreements and rebates as well as providing assistance with regional supply chain issues. Maintain the Group Specification for private housing and social housing together with Trade Contractor Specifications.

Key Responsibilities –
Facilitate the link between Regional Commercial Teams and our supply chain partners to ensure the group's changing needs are met.
Agreement of group deals, agreeing group rebates and keeping the supply chain informed of the anticipated requirements across the group.
Collate supplier rebate claims based on information provided by Suppliers and Regional Commercial Teams and ensure that all rebates are claimed and received from the supply chain in accordance with pre–determined deadlines.
Research the material producer market, suppliers and merchants and maintain an information database.
Evaluate products and materials together with route to market and recommend appropriate strategies therein.
Maintain high level relationships with our supply chain partners.
Negotiate Group Purchasing Agreements (GPA) with suppliers including service level agreements and fixed price terms.
Prepare and maintain GPAs including all attendant documentation e.g. PEFS/FSC Certification, H&S documentation, Insurances, key contacts, ethical purchasing policy; maintain the GPA register.
Research competitor activity and alternative supply chain partners to ensure best value and other core requirements (technical specification, volume, lead time, service level, quality) are satisfied.
Assist the Regions with supply chain issues and help source alternative suppliers if / when required.
Assist the Regional Commercial Teams to ensure that all procurement processes are carried out in accordance with the Commercial Best Practice Manual, the Company's Health, Safety & Environmental Policy, and the company's Management paper.
Initiate and manage the 360–supply chain feedback process to include meetings of concern where required.
To ensure compliance with the Vistry Group policies to include corruption and bribery, anti–money laundering and to maintain departmental disaster recovery plans and business continuity plans.
Promote the expansion and maintenance of good working relations with all internal and external stakeholders.
Make a positive contribution towards the planned expansion of the Company, with particular emphasis upon increased profits and return on capital employed, and the development / setting of appropriate budgets and forecasts.
Input to new margin initiatives and ways of working including a key contribution to cost benefit analysis supporting commercial decision making.
Chair quarterly Regional Buyers Meetings to review supply chain performance, share best practice and engage all regions in any proposed changes.
Maintain the Group General Specification for private housing and social housing ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and compatibility with Group Purchasing Agreements.
Ensure that Trade Specifications are kept up to date with regulatory requirements, Group General Specification updates and H&S Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Research and Development / Cost benefit analysis of alternative methods of construction etc.
Identify any regional/contractor non–compliance with Group General Specification, policy or procedures and rectify / resolve problems.
Maintain a library of core material costs for use within the Regions.
Prepare regular Management Paper updates, providing clarity to the regions on the mandatory processes and audit requirements.
Keeping up to date with legislation changes, and attend training as required by the Company.
Maintain the Group Commercial Department intranet site and ensure open lines of communication with colleagues across all regions.
Ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed of key departmental developments.
Ensured trading partners are aligned with the Groups Health & Safety, environmental and sustainability goals and procedures
Skilled in developing long term, sustainable value based trading relationships with the supply chain, ensuring our business becomes the Suppliers customer of choice
Consistently delivered commercial benefits via rebate and cost savings back to the Group on an annual basis
Successfully worked with business unit supply chain managers on a national basis to deliver the Groups Procurement strategy
Exceptional relationships with market leading Manufacturers and Distributors
Experienced in all aspects of strategic sourcing from data analysis to the development and delivery of sourcing programmes from RFP to contract award
Experienced in negotiating all aspects of supply contracts varying in value
Skilled in ensuring preferred suppliers add value to the business unit activities
Skilled in external management of suppliers and the setting up of SLA's and KPI's including managing ongoing action plans with suppliers
Experienced in managing a team of buyers
A good communicator and team player, used to liaising at all levels from site teams, commercial teams and board directors
Ensure you are an advocate of the Company's health, safety and environmental policies / procedures and lead by example at all times.
Ensure accidents / near misses are reported effectively and investigated when required.
Ensure the working environment is kept tidy and any hazards are eliminated.
Conduct health, safety and environmental checks to ensure your department comply with the Company's expectations and legislation.
Wear appropriate protective clothing on site at all times.
Attend all health, safety and environmental training as required by the Company.
Attend intermittent team meetings in alternative locations across the group as required by the job.Competencies –
N.C., or equivalent, in Surveying or Construction.
Experience working within a residential house builder.
A good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations.
A good knowledge of traditional construction methods and materials.
Experience with non–traditional construction methods and non–standard housing / apartment development.
Strong mathematical and IT ability.
Ability to assess and analyse information effectively.
Thorough understanding of budget management.
Excellent negotiating and networking skills.
Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Accuracy with an attention to detail.
Excellent team building / working skills.
Ethical, honest, and possessing discretion.
