We are currently recruiting for a Group HSE Director on behalf of our client, a leading UK manufacturer.
The Director Responsible for Health, Safety and Environment is accountable to the Group CEO for all matters relating to health, safety, (H&S) environment and welfare of employees (ESG) and those affected by the company's operations.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Understand and ensure that the implications and duties imposed by new Acts of Parliament, Statutory Instruments, H.S.E. Guidance Notes and Codes of Practice are brought to the attention of the Board of Directors.
Assure compliance with all relevant H&S regulations
To develop and implement the H&S and ESG strategy across the company with support from the Board of Directors
Chair the H&S and ESG Councils, monthly sessions with CEO and the Divisional MD's
Lead on strategic activity and operational matters relating to Compliance, Safety, Health, Environment and Quality across the organisation
Liaise with business partners in HR to drive wellbeing into our business strategy
Promote, develop, and establish a positive safety culture within the Company, ensuring it can meet its legal requirements
Providing competent support and expert advice to stakeholders across the organisation
Team management and development of H&S Team
Driving organisational H&S and ESG objectives & targets across the group
Providing the CEO and Senior management monthly, with information and reports in relation to H&S and ESG performance for presentation at leadership and board level
Full accountability for our Integrated Management System and obtaining and maintaining certifications
Ultimately to reduce accidents and incidents across the Group, drive change ESG initiatives and continue the development of the safety–first culture across the Group
