A midlands–based police force is looking for an experienced and NPPV–3 Cleared Senior Infrastructure Project Manager with proven test track record in delivering complex infrastructure migrations projects for public sector organizations. Initially home based with 1 day a week expected in the Coventry office until restrictions are lifted, this will then be reversed.
Scope of Work
You will deliver the Core Foundation Platform stacks, storage and Networking to multiple site to provide HA, resilience and DR capabilities. WP are a greenfield site all new implementations will need to confirm to NPCC and NEP requirement and standards.
You will work as part of the Hosting Services team and will report to the Senior Programme Manager and will engage with the different stakeholders within the business to support and deliver the required infrastructure. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Foster the conditions for the project teams to perform and lead on a day–to–day basis to ensure clarity of scope, good estimating, and solution development and to manage the risks.
* Contribute to the development of the business case or financial investment case.
* Develop a well–formed project and get agreement with stakeholders for the purpose, nature, and scope of the projects to secure buy–in and commitment.
* Manage and deliver the project within the agreed time, cost, and quality constraints to enable delivery of the agreed outcomes and benefits.
* Put in place transition plans and ensure business ownership is established for the ongoing ownership of outcomes and benefits.
* Maintain suitable plans, manage the delivery of minimum requirements and critical success factors, and effectively manage people (including third parties) and other resources.
* Monitor progress, regularly report on status, and initiate corrective actions. Ensure all expenditure or activity is tracked and reconciled to budget/plan with forecast to complete or value generated central to decision making.
* Create, update, and manage plans to address stakeholder expectations and secure buy–in.
* Form the project team with appropriate specialist skills (e.g., procurement, HR, change, legal, business continuity etc.) and advise the Sponsor on governance issues.
The Project Manager
You will have extensive Project Management experience around key technologies including Office 365 (MS Office, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Skype for Business, Yammer, OneDrive for Business etc.) and the delivery of Nutanix, Acropolis, VMware, NetBackup, LAN, WAN. Your other key skills and experiences will include:
* Knowledge of Police National Enabling Programme (NEP)
* Large scale migration projects, including Office 365
* Excellent knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects.
* Sound business case development and approvals skills, in a complex environment.
* Expert range of structured project management methodologies
The Commercials
This is initially a 6–month engagement paying in the region of GBP500 per day. There is scope for extension and the IR35 status is currently being determined. Due to the secure nature of the role applicants must hold either NPPV3 or SC Clearance to be considered
