Head of Support for Learning and SEN Coordinator (FT)

To start April or September 2021

We wish to appoint a well–qualified and enthusiastic Head of Support for Learning and SENCo with drive, initiative and a clear vision to take the lead in this vital provision for our pupils. The successful applicant will assume responsibility for the day–to–day operation of provision made by the school for pupils with SpLD. In return we offer a generous remuneration package and on site accommodation if required.

The person appointed will teach approximately half a timetable but will also be responsible for the Support for Learning department, working with learners with a wide range of specific learning difficulties, organising timetables of Support for Learning (SfL) staff, and liaising with classroom teachers to support pupils' learning within the classroom, as well as within their SfL lessons.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree, minimum Level 5 or equivalent SpLD qualification and an appropriate JCQ recognised qualification for conducting assessments for exam access arrangements. The person appointed for this post will be expected to have good interpersonal skills as well as being effective in the use of current technologies both for communication and to enhance teaching and learning for pupils with SpLD.
