Here at HM Land Registry, we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Quality and Testing to join our team based at any of our 14 office locations. Joining on a Flexible working, Full–time, Job share or Part–time basis you will receive a competitive salary of GBP52,667 per annum, Croydon GBP56,694.

In line with current government guidance, the role will initially be home based so an induction and training will be carried out remotely, with full support from the team. Once safe to do so, you will be based in one of our 14 office locations. Regular travel to our Plymouth office may be required and this should be taken into account when applying.

It is an exciting time for HM Land Registry as we continue to embark on a major transformation programme. HMLR's ambition is to become the world's leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data.

We are now looking for an experienced Head of Quality and Testing to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this.

HM Land Registry's existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at GBP7 trillion. This enables over GBP1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales.

Responsibilities of our Head of Quality and Testing include:

As Head of Quality and Testing you will be responsible for leading the Quality and Test practice, establishing test policy, and develop the organisation's test strategy. You will also be responsible for the quality and consistency of testing across projects and programmes within HM Land Registry. Your role will include ensuring that the people in quality and test roles have the appropriate skills, capability, and support to be effective in their role as well as access to learning and development to help them progress. You will be an expert with extensive experience of testing in agile, digital operating environment and a role model and advocate for the Quality and Test community practice.

As the Head of Function, you will maintain a managed view of all test activity to ensure there is a high standard across all project teams. You will lead investigations on complex quality issues, and act as the point of contact for the Quality and Test function.

As the Head of Practice, you will continually develop the Quality and Test Function, leading on new ways of working. You will build professional and collaborative relationships with other 'Heads of' roles to promote effective cross–functional delivery ensuring the quality and test practice has credibility and influence across the organisation.

What we're looking for in our Head of Quality and Testing:

To meet the requirements for this role you will have extensive and proven test management experience gained within a multi–disciplinary team in a digital and agile organisation. You will be able to design and implement quality and test strategy at an organisational level. Practitioner level experience of functional testing and test analysis is essential.

You will have the ability to coach and share own experience of being a high performing Test Manager, and have the experience of leading and growing quality, test practice and capability. Your experience of working across organisation boundaries, whilst communicating with stakeholders to build influence and credibility is essential.
