We are seeking an experienced (Prince 2) Project Manager for a Test and Protect Programme which delivers an Outbreak Control Plan, preventing and managing outbreaks of COVID–19 within our clients Borough. This role will be responsible for the management and coordination of the Outbreak Control Plan, and the Test and Protect project plan and activity.

Responsibilities

Work directly to the Director Public Health and support the Public Health Senior Management Team
Manage and coordinate all activity related to the Test and Protect Programme – plan and deploy a wide range of resources (using an agile approach)
Stakeholder management and communication withworkstream leads
Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the Council
Quickly and accurately communicate (verbally and in writing) rapidly emerging issues to senior leaders and adapt delivery plans accordingly
Highlight priorities, risks, and issues effectively for and in–between Boards
Keeping an effective Test and Protect Project Plan up to date, forward planning to anticipate risks, issues and priorities
Track the Test and Protect budget
To bring forward any relevant proposals on resource deployment in line with priorities
Manage the Test and Protect Coordinator – responsible for governance meetings and agenda and papers
Key responsibility for the Review and Improve workstream
Regularly reviewing the Outbreak Control Plan and keeping it up to date
Review and implement best practice from elsewhere
Horizon scanning and making recommendations about what's coming up to relevant Senior Officers and Boards

Person specification

Strong leadership skills and extensive experience of working at pace in complex changing environments and delivering through others
Excellent organisational skills and a proven ability of agile delivery and managing competing priorities, with experience of working within project management principles
A proven ability to lead people and set direction at pace
Experience of working across organisational boundaries and influencing others
