Job Title: Managing Director – Designate
Salary: Up to GBP70K
Car Allowance
Up to 50% Bonus (company target)

A small, growing business that provides outsourced engineering solutions to various industries, is now seeking an Operations Director to join the business as a succession plan to the existing MD, replacing them after a period of six months. This business has its own premises with other units situated locally, just waiting to be expanded into.
Reporting directly to the current MD, you will take a lead on maximising the facility's current capabilities by implementing lean practices across the business, starting with the shop floor. They have a strong, loyal client base which can be expanded on as well as the ability to accommodate any new business you can identify. Being a small business, they have the luxury of being able to flex around your plans in order for the business to expand and grow, making this a rare, truly autonomous opportunity that doesn't come along too often. As with any company of this size, the MD leads from the front and is not afraid to roll their sleeves up when necessary.
The ideal candidate will be from an SME, used to working 'hands–on' with reports covering engineering, manufacturing, goods in / out and sales. You will be a Lean Champion used to making operational improvements, ideally with Six Sigma training or similar. Some of the main criteria is listed below
Degree qualified
Strong management leadership, customer facing with commercial and financial acumen
An eye for business, the ability to spot and develop opportunities, even if it means working outside of the usual company parameters
Hands on HSE experience with IOSH training would be advantageous
