We are currently looking for a Finance Manager, National Commercial to support our national commercial and central functions teams based in Solihull. This exciting and challenging role is a key member of the finance team and will play a fundamental role in maximising the value generated from major commercial projects and national customers.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, Strategy & Development and National Commercial you will support and enable the delivery of Tarmac's national commercial major project pipeline. Maximising value creation through tender and bid activities you will take a lead financial role to ensure risks and opportunities are identified and managed, providing financial modelling support and challenge, provide clear reporting and financial insight to both financial and non–financial stakeholders whilst ensuring strong financial governance is in place as required. This may also extend to the preparation, review and approval of investment proposals and securing of required investment from our parent company, CRH as applicable.

Additionally, you'll use your expertise in finance mobilisation planning across people, systems and processes including financial reporting and performance management relating to contracts and communicating those outputs to non–finance colleagues and stakeholders. This role will also see you analysing and understanding both tenders and financial performance targets and deliverables to ensure clarity. You will act as the finance business partner for the National Commercial Director, and the National Technical, Commercial & Marketing central functional heads providing expert budgeting and forecasting support to achieve their respective functional goals and business plans.

The role also acts as a finance business partner to the national business manager for Tarmac's landfill and recycling business providing business planning and performance support.

Main ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will be responsible for a number of tasks including:

Providing effective finance support to all stakeholders in contract bid tenders including contract negotiations, financial due diligence and risk management as well as providing financial expertise to support the delivery of functional business plans and budgets
Ensuring accurate full value chain and contract margin analysis on major project tenders and contract appraisals
Leading on financial appraisals of projects, driving improved insight and challenge
Providing finance support to deliver the growth strategy and business improvement plan for Tarmac's national landfill and recycling business and supporting delivery of the plan
Providing finance support to ensure effective business performance reporting against budget and forecasts
Building effective relationships with finance teams to ensure a high degree of coordination and collaboration as required and managing key interactions with external advisers
Supporting further integration of Tarmac finance with CRH through promoting effective collaboration
Leading on best practice in development and investment, including coaching and mentoring of both finance and non–finance colleaguesThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have strong technical financial knowledge and must have a relevant accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA and/or be qualified by substantial relevant work experience, with the ability to apply their specialist skill set to achieve desired outcomes. You must be in possession of proven experience in dealing with large commercial finance projects typically including contract review, negotiation and due diligence. It is essential that you have excellent financial modelling and business planning skills coupled with a detailed knowledge of working on bids, tenders and investment proposals. You will also be inquisitive and highly analytical by nature, with demonstrable experience of using insightful analysis and review to track and challenge performance.

Lastly, but by no means least you should be a confident communicator, able to engage, build effective relationships and influence across all levels of the organisation and experience of presenting to senior stakeholders.
