Hamilton Woods Associates are working with a client based in Stafford that are currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner on a temporary basis.
The Finance Business Partner will ensure the annual revenue budget is appropriately prepared and there are clear links to operational activity. Monthly reporting is prepared on an accrual's basis, by budget head and Directorate, reports are analysed for trend analysis and forecasting purposes.

Hamilton Woods Associates are working with a client based in Stafford that are currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner on a temporary basis.
The Finance Business Partner will ensure the annual revenue budget is appropriately prepared and there are clear links to operational activity. Monthly reporting is prepared on an accrual's basis, by budget head and Directorate, reports are analysed for trend analysis and forecasting purposes.
The role:
- To lead and oversee the month end closedown process, ensuring the production of timely, accurate and reliable financial information in line with month and year end timetables.
- To ensure financial month end is closed on an accrual's basis, producing financial reports and analysing variances, identifying pressures and support the realisation of identified savings.
- Support with the production of the monthly group finance report.
- To be responsible for the completion of management accounting financial returns, grant claims, statistical returns and reconciliations.
- Liaising on a regular basis with the Staffordshire Commissioners office in respect of Commissioner funded initiatives, to ensure appropriate financial management is in place, including implementing processes to ensure that authority levels are introduced, and budgets are managed accordingly.
Required skills:
- CCAB qualification (or CIMA) or significant experience operating as a Finance Business Partner
- An understanding of Public Sector Financial Regulations and Policies and an understanding of wider accounting regulations and principles
- An understanding of business change principles including a working knowledge of how to effectively manage change and effectively realise benefits.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, internal departments and key contacts
