The role of Financial Controller is a business critical role which has been created following major US investment in the UK operation. This investment has transformed the UK operation, and highlighted area’s within the business which are to change, improve and grow.

My client is looking for a talented Qualified Accountant who understands that the efficiencies within a manufacturing environment are driven by finance. As part of the Senior Management Team, you will be positioned as the financial interface supporting the Sales, Operations and Engineering Directors. Your input on cost saving benefits and process optimisation are to be communicated at board level and then imbedded with the business.

The first requirement is to ensure that this FMCG organisation maximizes their manufacturing operation, ensuring that full efficiencies are introduced and the site uses the organisational investment, to maintain the cutting edge of production, while also ensuring that their international quality is upheld. Area’s of focus:
  • Control all reporting to Board and manage budgets, forecasts, monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
  • Advertising spend
  • Responsible for the preparation of the Group consolidation (including all associated consolidation journals) for actual results, forecasts and budget.
  • Working in a divisional overview role, review reporting from all Business units, liaising with the Business Unit
  • Communicate opportunities for growth and divestment
  • Ensure effective communication with Senior Management and the Group.
  • Responsible for the continuous development of the financial / management reporting of the organisation
  • Manage the annual budget for departments and the organisation as a whole.
  • Issue Standard templates to ensure budgets are submitted in a consistent format
  • Manage the statutory accounts and audit process and provide assistance to other divisions in their statutory accounts process.
  • Key projects, reports and investigations.
The second area of focus is staff management and development. There is a strong finance team, which are looking for a leader who can mentor and manage.

The successful qualified accountant is to be encouraged to engage with Operations, Production and Sales Directors, to help drive finances exposure across the business. Yours skills as an accounting professional and a commercial manager will be utilised to show clients that this organisation values its internal talent and uses them to the best of their ability.
