Based at our Head Office in Reading (with much flexible working), we're recruiting for a rarely available UK Tax Manager. You'll report into our Statutory Accounts and Tax Manager and in a nutshell, you'll coordinate the preparation and submission of corporation tax returns and all VAT tax returns as well as coordination of all HMRC payments along with other responsibilities.

You'll report into our Statutory Accounts and Tax Manager and in a nutshell, you'll coordinate the preparation and submission of corporation tax returns and all VAT tax returns as well as coordination of all HMRC payments along with other responsibilities.
What you'll get up to:
Corporate Tax
- Work with the Statutory Accounts and Tax Manager (line manager) to prepare annual tax computations and returns for all UK entities including group-level returns such as the corporate interest restriction calculations
- Responsible for timely submission of Country-by-Country Reporting to HMRC
- Assisting with HMRC enquiries
- Work with the IBM team to prepare monthly, two monthly and quarterly VAT returns for various PepsiCo entities for submission to HMRC and the Irish Tax Authority
- Schedule all VAT payments and ensure they are paid on time
- Monitor VAT repayments from the tax authorities
- Provide guidance on VAT rates applicable for PepsiCo products based on an internal framework
- Execute VAT related internal controls
- Perform / review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for VAT balances
- Provide VAT training as required to other teams
- Prepare the quarterly VAT forecast for cash flows purposes
- Responsible for the preparation and senior review of annual PSA computations and returns
- Ad hoc tax projects to support both Group and business unit needs, including payroll, VAT and other indirect taxes.
Essential
- Tax qualification (CTA) or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or similar) with tax experience
- Practical Corporation Tax and/or VAT experience
- Dealing with HMRC and professional advisors
- Exceptional organisation skills to manage a complex and fast moving agenda
- Ability to prioritise, strong communication, a self-starter and pro-active approach to work
- Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Oracle/HFM an advantage)
- Managing an outsourced team
- US GAAP tax accounting (FAS109)
