Overview
Baker Charles have been mandated by a high-growth Tech start-up to recruit a diligent Financial Controller to lead the business through their next phase of growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading and managing Finance functions in a similar environment and hones the ability to think strategically and commercially whilst supporting the CFO as a key contributor to the business. As the business enters this next stage of growth, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong understanding of SaaS based platforms.
This position will be for an initial 9-month contract and will be working remotely to begin with.

The Role
- Managing the end of year annual accounts process including completion of the audit
- Managing and reviewing the monthly management reporting packs including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasting.
- Responsible for leading and delivering the month-end close process whilst identifying opportunities for improvement throughout.
- Prepare budgets and business planning activities with a focus on maximising profitability across the business.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage a team of 2 who will be responsible for transactional finance (AP/AR/Credit Control) whilst encouraging process automation where possible.
- Continuingly striving to improve processes to support the business during its next growth phase.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or similar.
- Strong SaaS experience would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent leadership skills and commercially focused.
- A keen interest in start-ups and scalable businesses.
- Advanced Excel skills are a must.
