Who is our Client?

Established since 1979, our client is one of the UK's leading independent business broker networks with vast experience in advising owners on the sale of their businesses.

The role of the Regional Partners (franchisees) is to support other SME business owners, earning fees from business sales & valuations, as well as acquisition and exit planning.

What is a Business Broker?

A business broker is the SME equivalent of a mergers & acquisition team. Whilst global Plc’s employ teams of people to bring established brands together, a business broker’s focus on the business sale. Valuation, advertising, vetting potential buyers and negotiating deals. Business brokers then work closely with specialist solicitors, accountants, and others to ensure a sale completes.

Have you got the know-how to become a business broker?

Our franchisees come from a plethora of backgrounds like finance, accountancy, engineering, marketing, wholesale, and the care sector. Some have owned and sold their own businesses. Others have not.

We do not have a tick-box of qualifications. We recruit on aspects of personality and past business credibility. Our most successful recruits demonstrate some of the following attributes.
  • An understanding of the fundamentals which make a good business
  • The ability to enjoy meeting people and building a rapport
  • Self-motivation and drive
  • A willingness to network amongst business groups
  • A desire to learn
  • A personal network amongst which you are well-regarded
  • Credibility in at least one business sector
Additional income streams

Business sales are the backbone of the broker’s role. Once you have mastered these there are services that offer other income. These include paid valuation work, acquisition searches and, once qualified, work as a certified Value Builder coach.

What is my financial investment?

The franchise fee is £20,000 and we estimate a further £14,500 working capital will see you through your first year. This additional working capital covers the fixed franchise fee of £580pm and contribution to marketing of £85pm with an additional £6,520 estimated for general business set up (phoned, office addresses, network attendance, travel etc).

Unlike other franchises, our client do not charge a levy or royalty on your earnings. Our costs are fixed and transparent. What you earn on top of this is yours to keep.

Break even should be within the first half year and you should be earning a minimum of £80,000 by the end of year 2 and over £100,000 after that……if you put the work in and follow the model.

How long is a franchise term?

Each franchisee receives exclusivity to a defined territory for 5 years. Each territory is guaranteed to hold a minimum of 50,000 registered businesses. At the end of the term, Regional Partners can renew their franchise at no additional cost.
