The European arm of a US owner operator of Hyperscale Data Centres is looking for a Vice President of Site Operations. This permanent role has been created to support the launch and rapid expansion of the business across Europe – this growth is in part due to acquisition and in part due to new site builds. The business currently has five campuses, and it is critical to maintain a consistent customer experience across all these locations.
The Role
As their Vice President of Site Operations you'll be responsible for the overall site operations at each of the campuses – each site team will include a Director of Site Operations and a team of Critical Facilities Engineers who are responsible for the overall health and wellbeing of all electrical and mechanical systems, building maintenance, customer service and site performance. All sites are staffed 247 and your teams are the face of the business to their customers and the first line of defence regarding campus uptime. In your role you'll be expected to drive continuous improvement across all campuses by measuring metrics and KPIs consistently and, where appropriate, sharing best in class processes and performance. In addition, you'll work closely with the Design, Engineering and Construction teams to assist with ways that can improve campus construction without sacrificing maintainability and availability.

To succeed in the role of Vice President of Site Operations it's essential that you'll have a strong background within plant engineering and maintenance. It's highly likely that you'll also have significant experience working on data centres, although other mission critical industries such as hospitals and power plants may be considered (if the employer cannot find a suitable candidate with data centre experience). If you don't have experience within data centres (or possibly mission critical industries) this will not be the role for you.
