Reinforced Concrete Frames & Groundworks
Initial Projects: Milton Keynes, GBP10m Package OR Bristol, GBP7m Package or Central London
GBP75,000 – GBP95,000 per annum
About the Opportunity:
We have been asked to find a specialist concrete frame and groundwork Senior Project Manager capable of delivering packages ranging in value from GBP10 million up to GBP30 million each (anywhere in between). The initial packages / projects are either in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire (GBP10m package), Bristol (GBP7m package) or central London.
Individuals will need to have a strong understanding of everything from piling, groundworks, foundations, basement construction and multi storey concrete frame construction, while working on a mixture of residential and commercial projects.
Usual duties will apply from overall management of the site team, technical and engineering management of the programme and works, through to management of the client and surrounding aspects (i.e. health & safety, temporary works and client meetings).

With satellite offices in the South West and Midlands they have a strong coverage of projects with package values ranging from GBP5 million up to GBP45 million each (currently), covering the residential, commercial, leisure and education sectors. We have been preferred suppliers to this company for over 10 years and maintain a strong relationship with all the directors of the business.

The MD takes an active role in the safety department making sure it is at the forefront of everything they do, not only to please clients but most importantly to make sure every person goes home safely at the end of every day. In addition to safety, the focus on rewarding their staff is demonstrated in the constant career development that is offered and the targeted bonus structures that are in place for all the management and commercial teams. For instance, the project management bonus is several thousand pound and is paid twice a year. This is measured on a quarterly basis based on certain key performance indicators such as safety, programme deadlines and commercial statistics. This gives each PM a real gauge of what they have to do to earn each bonus and it is worth pointing out, every PM is hitting above 85% of their bonus. This is a simple example of how targeted clear reward structures benefit the individual but also the company as a whole.
About the Requirements:
Suitable individuals need to be degree qualified in civil engineering or construction management and will be able to show a strong history from a site engineer through to management over the last 5–10+ years.
It is crucial that professionals can show a strong amount of concrete frame and groundwork construction background having worked for rival concrete frame and groundwork subcontractors in the UK. Individuals from a main contract background cannot be considered.
Regarding software, our client uses the usual Microsoft programmes, standard email functions and Asta Power Project for planning / programming works. Project Managers will be required to use all these tools.
