It's a new position for the business as the owners look to put in place a succession planning strategy and will suit an entrepreneurial hands–on commercial director–level professional with exceptional vision who is looking to become Managing Director within 12 months of joining the company.
Market leaders in the design and manufacture of innovative overhead line electricity transmission and distribution solutions, the business has an excellent reputation in its sector both at home and overseas. Supported and mentored by the highly experienced shareholders, as Sales & Marketing Director/MD designate, your primary focus will be on driving the continued commercial growth of the business and assuring its longterm success.
The key responsibilities of the Sales & Marketing Director/MD designate will be to???
?? Achieve agreed sales revenue and margins, prepare quotes and tenders as necessary
?? Identify market opportunities, take full responsibility for driving sales and work with the current directors to develop a sound business growth strategy for future success
?? Take complete P&L ownership and maintain a robust infrastructure across all operational functions of the business to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget
?? Develop mutually beneficial relationships, internally and externally, and gain trust at all levels
?? Effectively lead and manage a committed and talented team, fostering positive team culture
?? Prepare and deliver monthly reports to shareholders
The successful Sales & Marketing Director/MD designate candidate???
Is a strong communicator at all levels, with both internal and external stakeholders and a natural in building and maintaining mutually successful client relationships within a B2B environment
Can handle the pressure when needed and has strong planning and organisational skills
Is financially and commercially astute with a track record of delivering and exceeding agreed targets
Is experienced in budget and report writing at board level
Will be a strong leader, with excellent people management skills and the ability to motivate others
Is pragmatic with an energetic, persuasive and engaging personality
Is a resourceful solutions provider with an entrepreneurial flair and someone who champions people, company ethos and cultural integrity
Has demonstrable experience in high–level external facing leadership which has enhanced the profile and brand of an organisation
