Due to continued growth, my client currently has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join their organisation on a permanent basis, as Head of Design. This position is based in Stockport.
My client is a leading organisation, in the design, manufacture and build of specialist boats.
Responsibilities
Lead the team of Design Engineers on a range of projects
Produce engineering designs, 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks software
Construction and presentation of engineering drawings of components
Updates and revisions of constructional drawings and CAD models using SolidWorks adhering to ISO 9001/2015
Assessment of vessel structure, components and equipment
Liaise with boat builders regarding design and engineering of new construction vessels and in–service vessels
Provide support concerning engineering drawings and construction techniques.
Quality assessment of running projects and completed vessels. Findings and rectification instructions clearly communicated to workforce
Detailed Writing of Craft Specifications
Experience/ Skills Required
Experience in the boat/ marine industry is essential
Mechanical engineering degree
Highly proficient with SolidWorks
Experience within management/ leadership would be beneficial
