We currently have a new opportunity for a proactive and strategic Commercial Director to lead our commercial and estimating function for our Spadeoak business, based out of our High Wycombe offices. Spadeoak offers a variety of specialist products including resin bound and bonded surfaces that they install into schools, colleges, commercial developments, retail and residential businesses.

About the role
Reporting to the Spadeoak Managing Director and leading a team of 5 commercial managers, you will set and establish a clear vision that engages, gives clarity, structure and purpose for them and their wider teams to ensure sales objectives are clearly devised and communicated to set them up for success.
Other elements to the role include:
*
Driving the marketing strategy across the region, understanding industry forecasts, building effective customer segmentation and developing sophisticated market analytics. This includes building the organisation (structure and processes) and capabilities (skills and resources) around the commercial strategy.
*
Delivering and ideally exceeding the budgeted income/contribution levels.
*
Leading and developing our Estimators in the pursuit of work winning and world class customer service to deliver a continual improvement in business growth.
*
Setting, monitoring, reviewing and coordinating all selling activity using defined targets for the teams and individuals, as well as providing ongoing and continuous feedback on performance levels
*
Working closely with relevant peers (contractor managers/surveyors) as well as the operational team to ensure optimal margins are achieved
*
Identifying and recommending opportunities for business development through both organic growth and new business development in target markets / segments.
*
Assessing the commercial risks of contracts/customers and aligning with the business strategy/budgets.
*
Representing the business internally and externally to build strategic relationships cross functionally and with key partners/suppliers. This will include customers, clients and representatives from Lafarge Holcim.
What will you bring?
*
Significant and demonstrable Commercial experience working in a target driven sales environment, delivering very significant sales budgets with the ability to establish and maintain full financial tracking and control.
*
Experience working in a similar Civil Construction industry would be an advantage (although not essential).
*
Ability to engage with and manage stakeholders at senior levels of an organisation
*
Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to build credibility and deliver with impact across an organisation.
*
Technical understanding of product portfolio to ensure regulatory and quality compliance.
*
Detail and results orientated with strong personal values to succeed.
*
Highly organised with demonstrable planning and delivery capabilities.
*
Full Clean Driving licence
*
Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Google
