The Company:

Market leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of decorative lighting to the global hospitality sector. Specialising in the supply of lighting to hotel and cruise ship projects predominately, their reputation stands firm as one of the longest standing and well–established vendors in this specialist field. By having proven relationships for many years with major hotel groups, cruise ship operators, interior designers, architects, shipyards, contractors and hospitality procurement groups, they have been able to secure large scale projects with the biggest names in the industry across the globe.

The Situation:

Having experienced record revenue growth in 2019 and ridden the storm well through 2020 they have one of the largest order books in the companys history and a strong pipeline of future projects.

A brand–new role has been created to sit on the board of this fast–growing and innovative family business. Recent advances in global markets and the increased complexity and scope of major projects, means that more horsepower is required at the very senior level of the business. The current shareholders have sights on further growth but understand that various functions, systems and processes need to be designed, implemented and managed in order to sustain the target growth.

Key Accountabilities:

* Review current sales strategy and subsequent output

* Analyse and assess all pre–existing systems and processes across the commercial function

* Manage the entire internal sales office function with the Sales Office Manager as a key direct report

* Become the 'Customer Service Champion' and work across all departments to improve customer service

* Maximise quote conversion rates by developing better systems for communication, quote follow–up and negotiation with the main goal being to WIN MORE BUSINESS.

* Analyse the entire tender process and look to make improvements and maintain best practice for all involved..

* Make important commercial decisions relating to projects, especially where pricing, payment terms, credit risk and contractual or legal issues arise.

* Play a strategically important role in supporting the external sales function.

* Assess project profitability on a job–by–job basis as well as on an overall rolling basis and report to the board with all findings and ideas to improve margins.

* Develop training and development programmes for staff, with focus on customer service, sales negotiating and project management.

What we are looking for:

You will have experience managing and leading teams, ideally within project manufacturing businesses working within both large corporate and SME environments, having experience of instilling best practice into these organisations.

Specific experiences will include:

* Internal Sales structure and support

* Account management

* CRM, customer service and project management systems development

* Pricing, pitching and commercial contractual support and process development

* People development through coaching and training support

* Implementation of lean working methodologies driving continuous improvement and supporting the digitisation agenda

You must show versatility having a high level of emotional intelligence, people engagement and coaching skills ensuring you evolve a very successful, motivated and loyal team.
