Protecting current and future generations is at the heart of Radioactive Waste Management's (RWM) mission to deliver the UK's first Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) and provide radioactive waste management solutions.
As a Procurement Business Partner, you will define, procure, manage and support key business needs for RWM throughout the GDF siting process. With multiple available positions, it could suit if you are more junior or are experienced within your field. You will join a diverse organisation and develop a wider understanding of successful strategic approaches to procurement development and its implementation within RWM as well as:
* Provide input to and scrutiny of commercial strategy development by reviewing and developing appropriate commercial strategies and policies and implementing procurement strategies for contract work throughout the GDF programme lifecycle, including supply chain development.
* Develop and maintain a robust framework of good governance and commercial control for the RWM wholly owned Subsidiary and promoting awareness of and compliance with good commercial practice and public expenditure controls throughout RWM.
* Develop and manage the pipeline of procurement activities for their portfolio of responsibility and procurement plan in support of the annual budget process.
* Provide day–to–day commercial evaluation of contractual arrangements and support to underpin business case analysis, as well as develop commercial staff.
The post will undertake other activities commensurate with the skills and experience as and when required. You should have experience working within the public sector on major projects (GBP1m+), with experience with construction/pre–construction procurement. You will have a firm understanding of how central government operates and knowledge of radioactive waste in the UK. You will collaborate closely with Executive Directors, Functional Leads and Programme/Project Managers as well as external contacts.
