We have an opportunity for an experienced senior leader to join the dynamic sales team of a global energy and building controls specialist, trusted by leading retailers, and blue–chip companies, to deliver sustainable control and remote monitoring solutions.
Working closely with the Group Chief, as Sales Director you will be responsible for developing and growing the company's business in the food retailer market niche, which encompasses a wide range of HVAC/BMS and refrigeration control equipment across the UK and EMEA.
You will provide strong leadership, strategic initiatives and commercial delivery, to drive incremental new business directly and by managing effectively a team of account managers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Take a lead role in the strategic direction of the HVAC/BMS and Refrigeration businesses, including sales approach and tactics;
* Keeping close to the markets you operate in and track competitor activity;
* Ensure your sales team meet quarterly and annual sales targets;
* Develop your own Key Accounts, meeting quarterly and team sales targets;
* Ensure the development and progression of existing customer relationships to maximise sales potential by both you and your Field Sales teams;
* Ensure effective and timely administration from both you and your team;
* Ensure that you and your team communicate, liaise, and negotiate externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of winning profitable business and building sustainable relationships;
* Ensure that you and your team look to continually develop technical knowledge, understanding of changing legislation and hone sales skills to achieve required results;
* With the Commercial Director, identify prospective new product lines and target applications, and work closely on marketing projects;
* Support your team and conduct HR duties including conducting of annual appraisals, recording of absenteeism and managing annual leave scheduling.
* Working closely with the Marketing communication department devolving tailor–made strategy to promote the brand and the company solutions in the UK and EMEA.

THE CANDIDATE
* Proven track record of field sales within a technical environment essential;
* Experience in Man–Management – will need to demonstrate ability to develop existing team and grow Key Account Sales;
* Familiarity with End Users such as manufacturers/contractors;
* Experience in the HVAC, BMS and Refrigeration markets;
* Driven individual who will take ownership and day–to–day responsibility for running and growing the business;
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
* Ideal home location: anywhere in England within close access to the main motorway network, i.e. M1, M4, M5, M6, M25, M42, M62.
