Our client is at the forefront of investment in and the strategic management of regional retail-led assets, they believe in delivering change and creating future places across the UK, places that will influence their communities for generations to come. They now have a requirement to hire a Client Accounting Manager to join the senior accounting leadership team. The primary function will be specifically being responsible for supervising, overseeing, and delivering financial management and statutory reporting and other services, in accordance with the Asset Management Agreements, for several of the assets under management for which we provide an outsourced finance function.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for:
  • Delivery of a high-quality outsourced finance service for the investors
  • Day to day management and supervision of several direct reports, including career planning, skill development and mentoring
  • Supervising and carrying out a detailed review of the client accountants work, including the quantitative element of all investor reporting
  • Responsibility for promoting and delivering real understanding, on the part of each member of the client accounting team, of the individual assets they are managing
  • Oversee and have senior ownership of relationships with the accounts function of the Property Managers
  • Oversight and review of the Lender compliance reporting, ensuring good working knowledge of the facility agreements
  • Advising on and promoting the continuous improvement of appropriate, effective, and efficient financial control processes, systems, and infrastructure within the client accounting function
  • Senior responsibility for managing the year end audit and relationship with the Auditor to ensure appropriate working papers are prepared and available in line with agreed audit timetable
The key attributes of the successful candidates will entail in-depth property experience including:
  • ability to oversee the Property Managers management of the assets service charge, and accounting thereof
  • assisting the team with the preparation of periodic cashflows and ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • ensuring optimal cashflow management
  • complex corporate structures and consolidations
  • loan compliance and covenant reporting
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and have worked in the real estate sector for a number of years. Experience of managing teams and getting the best out of them will be important, as will a strong technical knowledge including detailed knowledge of accounting standards such as IFRS.
