ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER – MANCHESTER – PERMANENT

The Life Sciences and Manufacturing division of an excellent, construction delivery consultant have appointed Energi People to recruit an Engineering Project Manager to support the Managing Director in the delivery of pharmaceutical projects. This individual will be responsible for the coordination of planning, management, and financial control of engineering projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Managing Director of division in the delivery of major Pharmaceutical based projects for the business.

Set out, with project stakeholders, the project requirements, scope of work and major project milestones, and determine project objectives

Ensure that results are delivered within the time–frames established, agreed budget and to the quality of deliverables expected

Evaluate, monitor, and report project issues, risks, changes and escalate as necessary, then progress to project stakeholders, sponsors, and line management

Bring about and influence project stakeholder groups and coordinate project resource to ensure successful project delivery

Lead the development of practical and cost–effective engineering designs taking full account of the many competing factors; technical, operational and economic

Prepare accurate and realistic budget estimates and milestone project programmes for the purpose of gaining approval of costings and budgets by the management and stakeholders

Support tender process and supplier/contractor selection and support the preparation of appointment and contract documentation

Organise testing, commissioning and validation of new facilities and equipment, assuring quality assurance, environmental, health and safety factors

Liaise with external consultants, engineers and contractors during the project execution ensuring all work carried out by them is within the requirements of the overall project remit

BACKGROUND:

Degree in an engineering discipline / Chartered engineering status

Proven track record of leading and executing complex large–scale projects within the pharmaceutical or related industry

Proficiency in programming, managing, and reporting on projects utilising information technology (MS Project/Excel)

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

Possess problem–solving and customer–oriented attitude

Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and processes

Experience in commissioning and qualification activities

Knowledge of engineering standards and best practice

Knowledge of process safety management
