Locum Childcare Lawyer – GBP40 to GBP50 per hour – 4 months – Remote Working

Venn Group's specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting a Locum Childcare Lawyer with a Local Authority based in the East Midlands.

The team are looking for someone to carry out the role for an initial period of 4 months, with the possibility of extension thereafter. This post will operate on a remote basis throughout the duration of the contract, however there may be some expectation for office presence when required.

Our client is ideally looking for someone to join the team on a full–time basis, but part–time applicants are also encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will have experience representing a Local Authority in contentious Childcare cases, managing a complex and varied caseload of matters from inception through to advocacy.

The successful applicant will be expected to carry out responsibilities including:

• Managing a varied and interesting Childcare caseload
• Conducting own advocacy via virtual hearings
• Attending and contributing to PLO meetings
• Handling matters including s7, s31 and s37 Children Act 1989 orders
• Dealing with emergency applications and adoption matters in court
• Advising on and conducting Emergency Protection Orders
• Ensuring that decisions made by the client department are lawful and in accordance with Council policy

The role is offering a rate of up to GBP50 per hour Umbrella, entirely dependent upon experience.
