Covering a major region of the South of England this Ambulance Service Trust is looking for a Director of Operations responsible for leading and managing the delivery of both 111 and 999 Services.

The pandemic has led to increased activity into the Clinical Co–ordination Centres (CCC) so an additional Director of Operations is needed to support the demand on their services.

As well as transporting people to the nearest hospital they provide a single point of access for people who are ill, injured or concerned about their health. In addition, they provide clinical assessments, signposting and advice services, also working closely with clinical networks and trauma teams to provide the best possible care for those with critical or life–threatening conditions.

The Director of Operations will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of both 111 and 999 Services within the contact centres across the Trust. They will ensure all services are managed to a very high quality and meet the needs of the communities they serve as well as being responsible for performance standards and clinical outcome measures.

Essential experience:

  • Significant experience of developing, leading and managing Contact Centres, either within the public or private sector preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of Government policy with regard to the development of NHS Services in an emergency or urgent/unscheduled care setting and GP out of hours and national 111 standards of delivery.
  • Demonstrable experience of management of complex budgets.
  • Ability to relate Government 111 targets and initiatives to specific Trust priorities

This is a challenging role that will influence the effeteness and efficiency of the Ambulance Trust directly impacting better patient outcomes.
