Supplier Partnership Director (Utilities)

To lead an extensive, complex and diverse commercial negotiation function with 10 Direct Reports, a wider team of c100 FTE and c10,000 subcontract labour.

For this role, we require an experienced senior leader of change and operational improvement, indirectly leading Large Field and Engineering teams, Procurement, Programme/Supplier Management.

About this role:
Key deliverables include; the effective management of 3rd party contractors (90% of field engineering services outsourced).

Focussing on safety, quality, network engineering customer satisfaction, service, revenue and efficiency over a cost base of several hundred million.

Core sector skills and expertise for this role:

Procurement and management of 3rd party contractors (managing c10,000 subcontract labour)
Commercial negotiations – experience within the Utilities sector in either Civil Engineering, Power, Water, Rail or Telecoms
Managing digital workflows, transforming processes & making strategic improvements
Appreciation and understanding of regulatory expectations and pressures
Engagement and collaboration with senior stakeholders
Leadership – leading large teams, both direct and indirect labour, delivering on cultural, performance and transformational change
Commercial Thinker – accountable for a budget of GBP350m and have a track record of delivering strong financial performance
Technical Expertise – A proven ability to identify and provide thought leadership on future strategic improvements to increase efficiency and serviceThe role:

The Supplier Partnership Director will lead a team of more than 100 people and be specifically
accountable for:

Ensuring partner resources are contracted to cover the right places, at the right time, ahead of time and recruitment cases, partner strategy and new models on insourcing/outsourcing.
The primary interface for all commercial in–life partner and supplier relationships and accountable for performance standards and outsourced order delivery.
Managing the commercial in–life aspects of national contractor services, to include: flex, civils, auxiliaries, including on and offshore desk and field contracts and ancillary services, in line with contractual, customer, financial and regulated targets.
Managing third–party partners at Managing Director/CEO level.
Owning the governance framework and resolution of risks & issues related to third party partners and identify opportunities.
Collaboratively partner with Procurement and inputting requirements to develop category and procurement plans.Please note: this is a permanent executive role within the business. LTIPS, bonus, car allowance, and a variety of additional reward benefits are on offer.
