Salary: GBP60,000 to GBP65,000 per year + Car Allowance + Contributory Pension

Location: New Eltham, London

Role & Responsibilities:

This is an unrivalled opportunity for an experienced HSQE professional to join one of the leading SME contractors in the south east of England.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be accountable for:

* Updating and compliance of the integrated management assurance system.
* Providing guidance on Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental matters to all stakeholders including the leadership teams.
* Coaching and being responsible for developing the HSQE team.
* Supporting leadership, management and project teams in maintaining first class HSQE standards
* Leading by example and maintain high personal standards of application and discipline that are necessary to ensure that all policies, arrangements and procedures are fully complied with.
* Ensuring that the health and safety assurance system is deliverable when involved in tendering for works, and the provision of contract documentation.
* Ensuring that risk assessments WPP's and Task Briefs are provided for all planned works.
* Holding monthly health and safety meetings with direct reports and initiate monthly cascade of health and safety briefings.
* Carrying out programmed Health & Safety Tours of works and report defects and action accordingly. Set out personal example.
* Motivating and supporting staff by discussing health and safety matters when carrying out duties.
* Encouraging the reporting of incidents, accidents & near misses and co–operate with internal or external investigations. Promulgating lessons learnt and develop procedures and health and safety briefings to prevent a re–occurrence.
* Monitoring health & safety reports and ensure that unsatisfactory conditions identified are rectified and adverse trends addressed.

Your Experience & Qualifications:

* 10+ year's experience within civil engineering/construction/rail industry
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate
* IOSH (Technical member)
* IEMA Certificate (Associate) or equivalent
* Ideally the candidate will have worked within the UK Rail sector and have good knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
* Have an awareness of all Acts, Regulations, Legislation's, Approved Codes of Practices and HSE Guidance that apply to the Companies operations.
* It would be advantageous if the candidate has working knowledge of the following accreditation's: FORs, RISQS, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
