Senior Electrical Project Manager – Data Centres

Astute are working with a leading Engineering & Construction company with a global presence across Data Centres, Energy from Waste, Facilities Management, Civil Engineering and Infrastructure projects. They are building a number of plants for a leading Data Centre company, where they are providing full turnkey solutions.
Their latest project is located in West London and offers 28MW of Critical IT Load. Data Centres are a growing sector in the UK as more companies move to offer Cloud Based Services and the client have more projects lined up to manage upon completion of this build.
Roles & Responsibilities
As the Senior Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
Managing all daily activities of the Electrical Contractors on site as well as the Electrical Project Management Team, ensuring project success and adherence to Health & Safety, Quality and Programme targets.
Manage all cost with associated works, liaising with the commercial team for procurement of sub–contractors, raising purchase orders & work orders and overseeing any variations as they arise.
Act as weekly chair of progress meetings investigate and report on any incidents and defects.
Investigate any defects and liaise with the design team to provide engineered solutions.
Manage sub–contractors & Suppliers to maintain project timelines.
Work with the design team to identify design optimisation & amendments to ensure site progress.
Support the M&E Site Manager as and when required.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Ideally degree qualified in a relevant Engineering / Construction discipline
Previous experience in managing full electrical (High Voltage, Low Voltage, ELC, Security, ICT, FA etc) works on Data Centres or Heavy Engineering new build projects
Track record in managing multidiscipline teams including procurement / commercial works
Full CDM 2015 awareness
IOSH / NEBOSH or relevant Health & Safety qualification
