Head of Commissioning – Data Centres

Astute are working with a leading Engineering & Construction company with a global presence across Data Centres, Energy from Waste, Facilities Management, Civil Engineering and Infrastructure projects. They are building a number of plants for a leading Data Centre company, where they are providing full turnkey solutions.
Their latest project is located in West London and offers 28MW of Critical IT Load. Data Centres are a growing sector in the UK as more companies move to offer Cloud Based Services and the client have more projects lined up to manage upon completion of this build.
Roles & Responsibilities
As the Head of Commissioning, you will be responsible for:
Plan and manage all pre–commissioning & commissioning activities as required per contractual requirements.
Develop a commissioning strategy, review project scope and complete project close out work.
Coordinate activities between the Construction Team and QA Teams for on time testing, ensuring documentation is signed and recorded ahead of project hand over.
Liaise between project teams ensuring all stakeholders are aware of the commissioning schedule and of works being carried out.
Monitor all log books, training programmes and testing in addition to producing commissioning reports.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Ideally degree qualified in a relevant Engineering / Construction discipline
NEBOSH / IOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification
Extensive experience in managing commissioning projects on new build Data Centres – similar Heavy Process Industries will also be welcome
Track record in managing projects on time including managing contractor activities.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and ELV services
