General Manager / Managing Director Designate
* Glasgow
* Package: GBP100k: Basic GBP60k + Profit sharing (minimum GBP20k pa) + car + 5% pension contribution

Our client is a rapidly expanding business that specialises in maximising R&D tax claims for ambitious SMEs within the UK. Having rapidly grown from a turnover of 0 to GBP3 million over the past 18 months, they work with a wide range of companies across all industries to identify the most relevant innovation funding available to their business and deliver maximum returns in tax funding.
With over 1000 active clients in the UK, they continue to deliver a 100% success rate for HMRC submissions in R&D Tax Credits for ambitious SMEs and global market leaders.
* Due to their current success and future growth plans, they are now seeking to appoint a General Manager, reporting directly to the CEO.
Your challenge:
* To develop and own the strategic plan to grow the company's profitable position.
* To modernise and expand the business, with a focus on sales growth, operations and financial control and take it to the next level of profitability, whilst delivering operational excellence and exceptional customer understanding and service.
* A key focus will be within operations to improve efficiencies planning and output through the introduction of Lean Methodology.
Role:
* With responsibility for around 15 staff, through a senior team comprising Sales Director, Financial Controller and Commercial Manager; Marketing Manager, Strategic Accounts Manager and HR Manager, you will provide engaging and empowering leadership to ensure that the site team is motivated to deliver against this plan.
* You will have full P&L responsibility of the business and lead the management and development of the company, contributing effectively to the day–to–day operations and growth strategy.
* Specific focus on Tax Credits
Candidate:
* An ability to think outside the box is an absolute must for this role!
* A commercial approach, lateral thinking and well–developed leadership and communication skills are a pre–requisite.
* External networker– to forge strong links with potential customers and provide input into wider cohesive strategies across the company's objectives.
* Ideally educated to degree level, and have additional accountancy qualifications, applicants will have experience of operating at General Manager level preferably in a Financial environment,
* Specific experience of managing corporate tax.
* The successful candidate should be able to interpret management information, set objectives, measure performance, and make decisions which will have significant financial impact on the business.
* Strong Operations Directors with strong commercial acumen will also be considered
