It has completed a successful funding round and has an impressive suite of investors. The business is rapidly scaling and as a result they now seek a Head of Financial Control to join the team and work to ensure that the finance function is a key support to the further exponential growth anticipated . This is an exciting and transformational role , varied in nature , with the opportunity to drive change, support the board and investors and work with leadership across the business.

Responsibilities include:
  • Managing and mentoring the financial reporting function
  • Being a senior voice in finance across the company, deputising for the CFO and making impactful decisions
  • Ownership of the annual budgeting and re-forecasting process
  • Business partnering with teams across the business including sales, marketing and customer support
  • Liaising with banks, auditors and HMRC
  • Implementing fundraising strategies, including debt and equity
  • Streamlining processes, improvement and driving strong internal control
  • Oversight of the annual audit process for financial reporting
  • Owning tax strategy and oversight of returns for Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant taxes and regulations
  • Implementing robust treasury management
Key requirements for the role:
  • You will be a qualified accountant (ACA) with excellent academics and a Russel University degree
  • Experienced in control and reporting, strong technical skills and ideally have exposure to /worked within a Cloud based SaaS company, or an interest in technology – US experience desirable
  • Commerciality, having worked in a start-up or rapidly scaling business
  • You will have pride in your work and a desire to offer outstanding contribution to the organisation as well as the confidence to take initiative and work collaboratively with the wider team.
  • You will possess excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • You will be a self-starter, hands-on, Can-do, driven, motivated, conscientious and comfortable working in an ambiguous environment where your ideas are embraced
