Zachary Daniels Finance are exclusively partnering with a PE backed leader in the recycling, energy and waste management market to appoint a Finance Director. This business is at the cutting edge of this sector, it is the leader of innovation in this space and is expected to expand, as well as diversify rapidly over the next few years.
About the role
The Finance Director will have responsibility for the entire group including all associated consolidations but will have a very 'hands on' role, partnering directly with operations, logistics, H&S and other functions. The finance director will report directly to the Managing Director and will have responsibility for strategy, reporting, operational & commercial business partnering, process improvement, planning & forecasting as well as leadership of a small finance team.
Key responsibilities
Overarching responsibility for finance across the group
Key member of the senior leadership team and direct support to the MD
Lead, develop and manage financial strategy
'Hands on' operational financial support and business partnering
Development and improvement of process, procedure and control
Provision of first class financial reporting to the business, the board and PE investors
Full responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, planning & analysis
Identification and mitigation of risks, compliance, and adherence to regulations
Leadership and management of a small finance team
Frequent travel across UK sites as and when required
Person profile
ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified
Demonstrable experience in an operationally focussed industry is essential (Waste, Recycling, Energy, Chemicals, Manufacturing etc.)
Experience of group consolidations is essential
A 'continuous improvement' approach and advocate of best practice
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
Excellent stakeholder management ability, diplomatic, team player
