The principal responsibility of the role is to manage Local Criminal Justice Board (LCJB) business on a day to day basis on behalf of the LCJB Chair and acting as either project manager or programme manager for LCJB related activities and Criminal Justice System plans and strategies.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Managing internal and external stakeholders
Controlling LCJB internal and external communications
Project Management and delivery of LCJB business through the creation, monitoring and updating of project plans
Building / recruiting multi–disciplinary teams from both internal and external staff, coaching and mentoring staff and managing day to day activities linked to projects and programmes
Writing and delivering against the LCJB strategic and operational plans
Determining the impact of change on the CJS agencies and writing plans, business cases and project initiation documentation
Identifying potential risks of a political nature to the delivery of LCJB business, consulting with partner agencies and implementing risk management plans and logs
Reporting to the Board and other executive boards
Managing all financial aspects of the LCJBEssential Skills & Experience
LEAN or equivalent process improvement qualification
Project Management PRINCE or equivalent qualification or significant Experience
Significant experience of working within one or more criminal justice agencies
Demonstrable people and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop others
Experience of managing bespoke projects and programmes of activity, with a demonstrable understanding of the principles of project management including risk and financial management, project planning/ forecasting and resource management
Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build extensive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and senior colleagues
