About Us
Would it inspire you to see the tangible impact of your work on the world? To work for a company that is committed to making a positive difference for people everywhere? If so, we could be the organisation for you. We are the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), a global professional membership organisation. We are at the heart of a management career in construction.
We are the world's largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership. Our members work worldwide in the development, conservation and improvement of the built environment. We are tasked with promoting good practice within our industry to improve the quality of life for everyone.
About the Role
As our Business Development Manager, you will secure from employers and other organisations new business, maintain and develop existing relationships and promote the CIOB's portfolio of products and services across the region.
Propelling forward membership growth, at an individual and corporate level, you will work collaboratively with your regional colleagues to develop and maintain key strategic relationships and grow the CIOB's influence, recognition and reach.
The ideal candidate would be positioned in and around the Bristol, Bath and Cardiff areas.
What we're looking for???
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate success within business development, consultative sales, account and relationship management and have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets and KPIs. With a high degree of professionalism, honesty and integrity, you will be motivated to achieve results and have excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills, giving you the ability to adjust your communication style to a wide range of audiences and levels of seniority. We also ask that you have experience of presenting to and engaging with customers at a senior level to win business.
Experience of the construction and built environment sector or within a professional body is desirable but not essential.
Due to the nature of this role, a full clean driving licence is essential, along with access to your own car. You will be willing to travel and work flexible hours to meet the organisation's needs.
What you might be asking is – why work for us?
In a nutshell, because we can offer you a friendly, flexible and welcoming working environment, and we'll show you that we're committed to your personal wellbeing and to your development within your role. We'll offer you a fantastic range of benefits – from access to a great pension scheme through to a variety of health and wellbeing schemes; and we'll make sure that you're constantly learning throughout your time with us. We even hold a Silver Investors in People Award – which demonstrates our commitment to you and our members alike.
No two days will be the same in this exciting position, so if you thrive in an ever–changing environment and love to get your teeth into a real challenge then this could be the role for you!
We're looking for the successful candidate to join us in at the start of March 2021 – therefore interviews will be carried out during January 2021
