A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Occupational Health professional, responsible for the management, development and improvement of this service.

Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management, development and improvement of the provision of effective and efficient evidence based occupational health service;
- Provide clinical leadership for staff members in the occupational Health team and supervision in order to maintain a high quality service, develop preventative and rehabilitative services, which meets both internal and external standards of practice, and service requirements;
- Build relationships with clinical and non–clinical staff to improve service performance and develop service offerings;
- Manage communication in potentially antagonistic and difficult circumstances where individuals have conflicting interests / interests which conflict with organisational objectives;
- Provide professional leadership, advice, support and guidance to the occupational health advisers and the wider team, act as a professional role model and provide strong, facilitative and effective clinical leadership for high quality services;
- Empower team members in undertaking a wider range of activities by ensuring appropriate updating, training and assessments programmes are completed;
- Represent the Trust and the OH Service at internal and external meetings, setting an example of innovative practice to address staff health and wellbeing issues;
- Provide advice to staff, and management on fitness to work in line with organisational/departmental procedures and protocols, particularly with regard to rehabilitation programmes and adjustments under the disability provisions of the Equality Act, referring individuals to specific specialists (such as physiotherapy and counselling), in accordance with agreed assessment protocols;
- To be resource for employees regarding matters relating to their health, providing senior support in individual complex cases, using their senior judgement and communicating sensitive information with tact and professionalism and providing a triage and review system.
- Specialist expertise, demonstrated by Nursing Degree or diploma in Occupational Health;
- Significant experience of working at a senior level and experience of managing an Occupational Health Services;
- Ability to work under pressure and to provide flexible responses in problem solving;
- Knowledge of current issues relating to Occupational Health.
