The Role:
THE CANDIDATE MUST CURRENTLY HOLD SC CLEARANCE
The Head of Projects is a senior member of the business who will be reporting into the operations director.
Our client is looking for an experienced Head of Projects to supervise a wide range of projects. You will be responsible for the delivery and overall success of each project. You will manage project managers and inform management on progress and performance.
A successful Head of Projects must have a broad knowledge of project management principles and processes. They must have a strategic mindset as well as be able to lead and develop their subordinates. In addition to their projects responsibilities Head of Projects will interact with the Head of Technical to ensure the correct assessment over project resources needs.
The goal is to ensure every project will be delivered successfully and add the highest possible value to the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage projects performance
2. Monitor and report cost & schedule performance for the portfolio projects
3. Participate in projects review
4. Participate in project resources allocation
5. Develop relationship with client to increase number of tasks and projects assigned
6. Directs and integrates the activities of multiple, major project operations; ensures that project efforts are generally cohesive, consistent, and effective.
7. Develops and establishes policies, strategies, and operating objectives consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and effective implementation of projects
8. Manages project managers and PMO (cost control, schedule and document control) staff
9. Deliver and manage bids
10. Act as liaison with overseas offices (including France)
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Significant experience (10–15 years) leading projects
2. Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
3. Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics
4. Ideal experience on decommissioning projects
5. Able to ensure built in engineered safety and quality in design, delivery and assurance of projects
