Our client is a ambitious and growing infrastructure contractor working in the rail, highways, civil engineering and electrification/power supply sectors.
As part of our growth and development, we require a Head of HSQE to join our busy HSQE department and lead a passionate and well skilled team.
We can consider a HSQE Manager with the right background ready to take the next step in their career or a already established Head of a department.
This Head of Health, Safety, Quality & Environment role is a key senior role in the business. The Head of HSQE is accountable for the Occupational Health & Safety Management procedure, the compliance and Quality standards and the Environment Management procedure in the company Integrated Management System. Head of HSQE will lead the Safety & Environment team, and will be accountable for promoting Health and Well–being, promoting a Safe Working Culture in the company, and for improving the company's Environmental Impacts.
To be successful in this role we require someone who can:
* Provide leadership to the Safety culture and promoting our core values both on site and from a strategic business wide point of view
* Look at continually improving our safety culture and standards
* Inherit, lead and provide line management to a passionate and driven HSQE team
* Have involvement in Business development through safety strategy and engagement in safety forums
* Heavily involved in work winning and tender opportunities providing support to the work winning team on tenders.
* Performance reporting periodically to the Senior Leadership Team and board.
* Lead the incident & accident investigations and promote a positive reporting culture through out the business.
* Auditing our business against internal and external standards such as ISO, RISQS and other industry lead accreditation.
Qualifications
* Nebosh Diploma minimum – HSQE related degree also considered
* Chartered Member of IOSH plus other affiliated memberships such as IEMA, CQI.
* PTS
* CSCS
* Lead auditor
Experience
* 5–10 years as a HSQE Advisor in the rail construction industry
* 2–5 years of leading a HSQE team
* Excellent understanding of HSQE culture in a contractor environment
* Excellent leadership skills from a line management and promoting a safety culture point of view.
