Job Title: Assistant Financial Controller – Costs
Location: Uxbridge or Cardiff (Home based initially)
Salary: Up to GBP50,000
Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 9am–5.30pm

We have an exciting opportunity to join a specialist lending business who now have a position reporting to the Finance Controller, looking after all financial aspects for costs. Key responsibilities include the integrity of the accounting records, process and controls are adhered to. Manage all costs and capex and interface with FPA cost Manager. You will also be required to lead manage and motivate a small team of 2 (one based in Cardiff and the other in Uxbridge)
Responsibilities for the role of Assistant Financial Controller
Manage all costs and capex and interface with FPA cost and support and reporting including fixed asset, payroll processing, accruals, and prepayments
Support FP&A in costs forecasting and DPD reporting
Maintenance of accounting policies and procedures around costs and capex, including accounting papers
Manage cashflow requirements, reporting to Australia on cashflow and cost related items
Balance sheet reconciliations
Support audit and statutory accounts for analysis around costs and taxes
Interface with outsourced servicer and costs
VAT – manage compliance on VAT including preparation and submission of VAT returns
Interface with advisors on corporate and payroll taxes. Manage HMRC payments for two entities
Project accounting and monitoring
Responsible for Procedure and AP process, including broker commission payments and associated bank reconciliation
Responsible for tech 1 system administration
Manage IFRS16 reporting and accounting entries
Delivery of process improvements for greater control and efficiency as the business develops
Involvement in new product and initiatives from the outset
Recruit a high performing team
Lead a team to include objective setting, motivation, performance management and their development
Work closely with the finance management team to ensure collaborative working relationshipsExperience required for the role of Assistant Financial Controller
Exposure to and practical knowledge of taxation matters, both direct and indirect
Working knowledge of the Financial Services sector, in particular lending would be highly desirable but not essential
Experience of leading, motivating and developing a small team
Ability to support in production of management accounts and analytical reviews relating to costs
