The Role

To lead, manage, develop, and be accountable for the faculty team and the curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4 in order to ensure the highest possible standards of pupil achievement, personal development and well– being in accordance with the aims of the Academy and the curricular policies. Provide professional support and guidance to colleagues, including modelling effective strategies; e.g. behaviour management, teaching and learning and ensure staff are informed and up to date in their work.

To offer all children an effective education in a stimulating environment, which provides equality of opportunity for all.

• The efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources

Essential Skills & Requirements

• Degree or equivalent

• Qualified teacher status

• Evidence of and commitment to continuing professional development

• Successful Academy teaching experience with experience of teaching across the age and ability range

• Teach using an increasingly wide range of teaching strategies to meet differing learning needs and abilities.

• Understanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high aspirations and rates of progress

• Strategic thinker who tailors' lessons to student needs

• Successfully deploy a wide range of effective behaviour management strategies.

• To work as a team supporting department members in developing and sharing good practice

• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, to a range of audiences.

• Make effective use of ICT across the curriculum when teaching and planning

• Experience of managing, motivating and developing staff

• Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate, develop and inspire staff and to encourage student and parental involvement
