Burlington is a care home group with values surrounding the loving care of vulnerable and elderly people. Their mission is to provide all Residents with a happy quality of life and allow them to exercise maximum independence and autonomy whilst quietly and discreetly ensuring they are looked after in every way.

The main components of the Burlington Care business are its 31 care homes, but its operations also include a pharmacy, a large estates support team, a healthcare supplies wholesaler, a domiciliary care business and a property development arm.

The business has grown substantially over the last five years, mainly through acquisition. The challenge for the leader of the finance team will be to ensure that it is fit to support the next phase of growth and to actively participate in realising its goals.

The Director of Finance will take responsibility for managing all aspects of the Burlington Care finance function. This will include providing leadership and support to a large, busy, engaged and loyal team.

With the assistance of your team, you will develop even more effective and scalable systems of financial accounting and control across the business.

Using your experience to develop insightful MI, finance will provide an increased level of support that will allow the operating board to drive efficiency and profitability whilst maintaining exceptional standards of care and support to Residents.

The successful candidate will be qualified (ACA, ACMA or ACCA) and have a clear and collaborative communication style which can inspire colleagues at every level within the business.

Your previous experience will involve managing a busy finance team, but we also want to meet candidates who can demonstrate a level of commercial awareness that can add useful commentary to the operation and evolution of the group.

When dealing with internal and external stakeholders you will be able to demonstrate a significant level of emotional intelligence and your personal values are likely to align closely with those of The Group.

This role will be based at Burlington’s central office in Carnaby near Bridlington. The Group is on a significant trajectory of growth and this role represents a substantial opportunity, for a capable and ambitious candidate, to evolve with the business on their journey.
