Digital Health Record Programme Director (Planning Phase)

Job Purpose

The Trust are seeking to implement a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR). Referred to as the Digital Health Record (DHR), the DHR will be implemented across the Trust in order to improve quality & safety and to enable efficient working practises, leading to better patient experiences.

The DHR implementation forms an integral part of an innovative and exciting transformation programme that will provide a comprehensive digital experience, incorporating the full range of paper–free medical and nursing information and notation required to deliver world class patient care.

Location: Wallington (travel to Sutton/Chelsea site will be required for the role

Temporary: Expected to last 3 months with possible extension

Hours per week: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

Salary: GBP48.23 to GBP55.29 per hour (Umbrella) or GBP41 to GBP GBP47.31 per hour (PAYE inclusive of Holiday)

Key Tasks

* will be an interim role until end March 2021, following which the organisation will be recruiting for a permanent member of staff via the usual channels

* The individual is required to manage a planning phase which will include a detailed collaboration options appraisal, programme plan, production of procurement deliverables in conjunction with procurement team partners, presentations for Trust Board and other senior executive forums and responsibility for programme management end to end under the direction of the CIO

* Will work closely with the CIO, CCIO and CNIO, members of the Trust Digital Services and clinical teams

* Will need to have experience in delivery of the above, and able to produce high quality written and oral presentations, to tight timescales

Operational

* Jointly with the Clinical Safety Officer (CSO), Chief Nursing Information Officer and Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) ensure design and development is impact assessed, recording risks / hazards and establishing robust mitigation plans.

* Define and seek approval for the system design and specifications to ensure the system meets operational and clinical objectives. This will include working closely with the Digital Council and Digital Design Authority.

* Agree and document the workflows for users where required for this phase of the programme. These form the basis for other work streams within the programme to complete their work e.g. testing, training, interface team.

* Provide regular reports on progress through the governance structure and communicating with the division and trust stakeholders.

* Support sharing best practice and experience in order to have a consistently high quality delivery approach.

* Ensure benefit realisation plans are developed to capture changes in working practices.

* Run workshops – identifying the gaps and solutions to deliver the best solution for the organisations

* Run stakeholder engagement events.

* Recommend improvements and additional activities to ensure value.

* Invoke corrective action when required.

* Advise on DHR related strategy.

Programme

* Manage and ensure meetings are coordinated ensuring colleagues are kept updated at divisional level.

* Responsible for the implementation and development of the DHR preparation programme plan.

* Prepare reports of the correct detail and quality to satisfy Digital Transformation Programme governance, ensuring issues and associated mitigations are captured and managed effectively.

* Instigate and maintain professional change management and transformation standards for the DHR programme.

* Liaise with other managers to map current information flows within each clinical area. This will involve new process maps as part of the preparation of clinical areas for the transition to new ways of working (where required for this phase of the programme).

* Document and manage the implementation of new information flows, system processes and business practices.

* Responsible for the subsequent amendment of techniques and procedures to ensure continuing, effective performance of the DHR transformation work stream.

* Abide by good programme management techniques e.g. manage tasks to plan, to budget and log / manage risks and issues.

* Actively contribute to the realisation of benefits from delivering different ways of working enabled by delivery of the system.

* Adhere to current change management and change advisory board practice when implementing change
