FD Recruit are working exclusively with a cutting edge, PE backed manufacturing business to source their first commercially focussed CFO. This is an exciting opportunity to join an award winning and well-established international market leader in the design, manufacture and sale of cutting edge energy saving equipment and solutions to business'.

Reporting to, and working in conjunction with, a CEO who is highly driven and passionate about the business, the CFO will be instrumental in streamlining and improving processes across the organisation with a focus on total business development and growth and compliment the CEO's strengths and weaknesses. This role will ideally have responsibility for Finance, HR, Legal, Facilities, Commercial and IT functions and will ensure the development and smooth running of these at this critical time.

Ensuring financial controls and the commercial framework are highly robust and designing and driving sustainable, profitable growth while jointly taking responsibility for the direction of the entire business.
Based in the South West, (but with London offices if more convenient) this flexible, forward thinking, highly respected business, require a commercially focussed senior finance professional to provide finance, operational and commercial support across the organisation during this crucial period of rapid growth.

Key duties will encompass:
  • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs to ensure the company transitions to becoming the global leader delivering smart building solutions by deploying Big Data, IOT and AI
  • The overriding goal is to make the business more profitable, valuable and investable
  • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual Financial planning
  • Provide full financial transparency and control of every project, especially profit and loss on multi-site rollouts
  • Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
  • Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention
  • Adhere to company, and international business protocols, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary
  • Analyse internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement
  • Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO
  • Directly oversee operations, HR, and accounting, and partner with the CEO on sales management to budget for sufficient investment capital to achieve growth targets over the near term
  • Aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves investor targets relative to growth and profitability
  • Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders

About you:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 10+ years' experience in executive leadership positions
  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues, ideally within a rapid growth, PE Backed business
  • A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
  • Be able to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues
  • International Business Experience
  • Solid people skills, excellent business acumen, a driven self-starter and a doer, not a delegator are qualities that are admired
  • Able to lead a team of high-performing professionals to be efficient, productive, and effective.

Our client is offering an excellent remuneration package including a substantial basic of £90k-£110k (based on experience and qualifications) plus considerable bonus earning potential is available based on performance and negotiable equity. Flexibility in working hours including the potential to work from home where mutually beneficial is negotiable.

The CFO will ideally be based near Bristol however the client has offices in London and Cornwall; hence location is not necessarily a determining factor.
