Finance Director

Nursing homes and Care homes...the unsung heroes of todays' world. We've all clapped for them on our door steps and most of us are trying to do whatever we can to be able to do our bit. The opportunity to do your part, support the care sector and really help those guys on the frontline, doesn't come around all too often though, especially in a role that feels like it's made for you.

After all, this is the sector that will ultimately take care of us when we get a little older...they're doing a sublime job taking care of our most vulnerable at the moment. This is where you're able to find fulfilment whilst also still being able to develop yourself...Is that even possible though?! Are the two not parallel lanes, destined to never meet?! Ordinarily that would be then case, although it seems like we've stumbled upon the "pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow.

That's why the FD position within this care home is the one for you. You could use all your technical skills to support the owner of the care home, across 6 different nursing homes, to look into a multitude of new operational functions such as:

• Profitability of the 6 nursing homes
• Training and development of local accounting teams
• Discovering new sites and locations for expansion of the business

That means you'll have your fingers in many different pies, so whilst you will be the most senior finance person in the business, you'll also be leaned on for matters that fall outside of finance too. You thrive on that though, the ability to use your thirst for knowledge to go out wider than the finance world...yes sure you are a very skilled and technical Accountant, that goes without saying, rarely though does an FD get an opportunity where they're not just an Accountant but an Operational Director too.

You'll be relied upon for sound advice as well as process improvement when it comes to financial reporting, collating data across 6 nursing homes in order to give a strong holistic view of the operational function.

Couple of additional bits that would be useful to have:

• Industry experience, care sector or nursing homes
• Xero knowledge
• Qualified in either ACCA/ACA/CIMA
