A leading national retail organisation, based in Stockport, are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to assist them during an extremely busy period.
The Role and Responsiblities of the Financial Controller position will include:
Responsibility for the accurate reporting of the regions financial information both internally & externally
Own and continually develop relationship with the Finance Shared Services functions for all finance activities (covering GL, Statutory, AP & AR)
Proactively identify risks and issues, implement process improvements and strengthen the overall control environment
Lead the month end management accounts process, identifying and resolving any issues in a timely manner and meeting required deadlines
Own reporting and presentation of results to senior stakeholders
Proactively analyze, understand and own the P&L, Balance Sheet and Working Capital by ensuring accuracy of all postings
Manage, lead and develop the Management Accounts team and Accounts Receivable team
Reporting and analysis of key KPI's
Ensure all internal targets are adhered to regarding AR resolution and AP balances
Key contact for both internal and external Audit processes across UK, France, Spain & Germany
Support and review the statutory accounts, tax and VAT requirements in conjunction with the Shared Service team
Working Capital and Cashflow reporting with particular focus on AR open deductions
Support any queries with Intercompany balances
Working closely with the Finance Director to proactively manage risks and opportunities within the business
Contribute to the annual budgeting and monthly forecast process
Support the FP&A team when necessary
Assist the Finance Director with any ad hoc analysis or queriesThe successful individual will;
Be ideally CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified or QBE and overseas equivalent
Have management experience within a finance role
Be comfortable dealing with stakeholders
Have experience of an ERP system
Be available at short notice
