Dawson Levy Resourcing are delighted to be recruiting for a specialist principal contractor/sub–contractor working in the field of structural strengthening and refurbishment of civil engineering works such as bridges, tunnels, stations and retaining walls.
Our client have secured the Metallic Structures lot as Principal Contractor in Network Rail's Southern Region Building & Civils Framework, which will run for between 3 and 8 years. We need to design, plan and execute structural repair schemes to metallic overline bridges, river crossings, footbridges, gantries, etc. Works are expected to vary from simple blast and repaint to complete deck replacements.
Framework Director
Reporting to: Managing Director
The role is to run NR's Southern Region Building and Civils Framework, involving sites in the Kent, Sussex and Wessex routes. This is a zero–value framework and work–packages will need to be priced and negotiated.
Locating opportunities within the Framework, through close liaison with the client and route managers.
Defining the strategy and associated actions to become a successful NR contractor
Defining the appropriate framework delivery organisation, building the appropriate supply chain, and lead the associated recruitment of key positions
Directing the correct pricing of work–package estimates including checking and approval of such estimates,
Presentation of the company's offer and negotiation to contract award,
Ensuring the Framework Project Manager is able to deliver the Company's Framework contracts safely and profitably
Ensuring that costs are properly monitored and reported throughout the contract,
Ensuring compliance with legislation, industry and client standards,
Ensuring that all necessary competencies and permits are maintained,
Reporting to the leadership team on the performance and objectives of the Framework.The successful candidate is likely to have gained substantial experience in running projects as Principal Contractor in the rail environment. Good client–facing skills are important.
