SSA are recruiting on behalf of a Carpentry and Joinery Contractor serving the Commercial and Residential sectors in London and the Home Counties, our client is actively looking for a Project Manager to join their team.
The successful candidate must come from a Sub – Contract background with experience in Carpentry / Joinery / Fit Out projects and have experience in a similar role.
About the role:
The Project Manager will be assigned projects by, and report to either the Senior Project Manager or the Operations Director. The Project Manager may be expected to work on more than one project at a time and for each assigned project they will have overall responsibility for ensuring that the planning, management and coordination is successful and that financial control within the project margin is maintained.
The Project Manager must maintain awareness and accept responsibility for all aspects of the project. Although individual tasks may be delegated to members of the project team it is the work that can be delegated not the responsibility.
It is the Project Manager's responsibility to see that the project is completed in accordance with the specification, on time, and within the agreed budget.
Duties & Responsibilities:
?? Creating the appropriate management tools such as programmes and progress checkers to manage and report the works.
?? Managing the design development progress and issuing a weekly report to client showing status, based on appropriate design register.
?? Manage request for information register and sample submittal register
?? Ensure commercial management place orders with appropriate QITP in a timely manner.
?? Manage project as a whole and enabling the successful integration of all areas including the client, SCL, sub–contractors, suppliers, Health & Safety and environmental compliance.
?? Ensure that both materials and labour are correctly forecasted to avoid delay.
?? Ensure that all problems are reported to the Senior Project Manager and Directors ahead of Client intervention.
?? Inform Estimating Department of successes and failures.
?? Understand tenders and the valuation process and why the commercial manager is reporting the respective margin.
?? Ensure that the Margin the commercial manager is reporting is safe and accurate.
?? Ensure that the proposed team bonus schedule is being developed sensibly and safely.
?? Create and develop our tender programme (Using Asta software) and ensuring any plans are being reported and tracked against it.
?? Ensure that the monthly cost and management reports are accurate, up to date, and accounts for all outstanding work to completion
?? Sign off and submit the monthly cost and management report to the account's office departments respectively by the due date.
