Senior Costs Draftsman/ Costs Lawyer

Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Costs Draftsman/ Costs Lawyer with minimum 5 years' experience in drafting Bill of Costs and also up to date with 'Precedent S'. With our team expanding rapidly we have an opportunity to join the drafting department. As a member of Pure Legal Costs Consultants you need to be dedicated, motivated with the ability to organise your workload to meet deadlines.

You will report to your team leader within the Drafting Department and assist in delivering a first class service to our customers both within and outside of the Pure Business Group.

Principal Accountabilities:

Preparing detailed & complex Bill of Costs with little to no supervision including Precedent S.
Drafting Precedent H and Precedent R with little to no supervision.
Preparing N260s/Statement of Costs
Providing support and mentoring for junior members of staff.
Person Specification:

Proven experience of drafting Costs Budgets and familiarity with complex multi–track litigation.
Experience of negotiations / Costs Management Advocacy
Knowledge of Proclaim (desired but not essential)
Excel literate to a good standard
Working effectively within a team

Good general IT skills
Time management skills
Ability to use initiative and solve problems
A willingness to develop junior members of staff.
