Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a Head of Science for a full–time, permanent contract at an outstanding academy near Lewisham to begin in January.

The Role and the Department
Science is highly valued and taught across the curriculum each week from Year 7–9 (4 x one hour periods per week). In Year 9 students choose their GCSE options and Triple Science is a popular choice with approximately 60% of pupils selecting this over the combined award. The first class and fully equipped Science classrooms on offer provide the ideal environment for students to thrive and fulfil their potential.
The department specific Progress 8 score is +0.3 with over 40% of students going on to achieve the top grade 7–9 category.

To be successful in this role you will need to:
*Be a Teacher of Science with QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification.
*Have excellent knowledge of the Science curriculum.
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
