The role of the Chief Engineer is to oversee all engineers on site also working in conjunction with the Project Manager on any internal/external projects on site. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for issuing all workloads for engineers on site, setting objectives, ensuring team have correct and required equipment/tools and management of annual leave/absence levels. This will also include training of any new engineers on site and supporting the team in project work on site and breakdowns.
Key Accountabilities
Engineering
• Scheduling daily workloads for the team including enquiry regarding any overtime required – weekend scheduling
• Management of annual leave allocation for the team
• Ensure any parts/materials required are being processed through Engineering Stores Co–Ordinator and ordered in a timely manner if not raising any concerns to Project Manager
• Setting engineer team objectives each 6 month and attendance at PDR meetings
• Ensure all engineers are correctly trained and fully competent in role – if training required speak with H&S/Training Manager to discuss what is required
• Implement and monitor a Planned Preventative Maintenance Program for engineering department alongside Project Manager/Planning/Operations Department
Projects
• Work alongside Project Manager on all internal/external projects detailing
o workload required
o parts/equipment
o Time scheduled for this in line with the Planning/Operations Department
o Co–ordinate engineering team in assigning duties for the successful completion of projects on site
• Undertake any other activities as per request from Projects Manager/General Manager
• Contribute to and support delivery of the Health, Safety and Risk strategy at the HOS site
• Work collaboratively with the site management teams to deliver all aspects of engineering management and health and safety.
Projects
• Attendance to all internal management courses and any other as per requirement

Indicative Salary Range: GBP35000
