A leading British Bank is looking to a hire a Financial Controller to join their unique team. Reporting into the CFO, you will working closely with the all internal Directors supporting them with your technical knowledge on issues relating to accounting policy, financial reporting disclosures & controls. Alongside this, you will need to have previous day to day people management experience as you will be developing a team of 5.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting best practice on all accounting issues in relation to Policy Committee decisions
- Supporting the CFO with balance sheet risk assessments, providing advice and business partnering internally on accounting standards, strategy, capital and forecasting.
- Develop and maintain robust controls, production of bank and subsidiary accounts, new initiatives, bank's forecast and prepare papers for auditors.
- Shape and deliver implementation of a new general ledger and reconciliations system in the New Year (2021).
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to have a considerable amount of opportunity to influence strategy across the Bank. Your scope of responsibilities will essentially cover maintaining the accounting policies, accounting for Bank's subsidiaries, forecasting the income and balance sheet.
This opportunity will be suited for professionals who have the following experience:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
- Strong background in Financial Services/Banking industry
- Leadership and best practice of technical accounting treatments (IFRS, external & internal reporting).
- Delivery of new frameworks and processes
